Job Summary:

Great employee experiences start with great communication. Are you passionate about helping people understand not just what is changing, but why it matters to them? Can you turn complex HR programs and organizational priorities into clear, compelling communications that build understanding, trust, and action? Are you excited about finding new ways to reach employees more effectively? To shape how colleagues around the world hear about the things that matter most to their careers? If so, this may be the job for you.

Bechtel is looking for an HR Communications Manager to work hand in glove with our Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards teams to communicate effectively across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of people strategy and storytelling — translating HR priorities into communications that build trust, drive action, and reflect who we are.

The right candidate is a strong writer with excellent judgment and a steady hand. You know when to be plainspoken and when to be warm. You can build a change communications plan for a major organizational shift on Monday and write a benefits enrollment campaign that people actually open on Tuesday. You're curious about how AI and new channels can help us reach a workforce that spans offices, job sites, and everything in between.

The right candidate is much more than a strong writer. They are a trusted advisor who understands audiences, asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, and helps turn business and people priorities into communications strategies that drive understanding and action. They know that sending an email isn't a communications strategy—and will think creatively about the right message, messenger, channel, timing, and experience for every audience.

You'll join a Corporate Affairs & Marketing organization that is actively evolving how we communicate. We're experimenting with AI and new technologies, getting smarter about channels and audiences, and looking for new ways to create communications that are more relevant, useful, and engaging for our colleagues around the world.

Bechtel is a values-driven culture. The right candidate will have a "one team" mentality and be ready to jump in and maximize communication efforts across the enterprise. Are you bold enough to build what’s next? Join us: Built by the Bold

Major Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead communications partner to HR leadership, building and executing communications strategies that support people priorities across the enterprise.
Lead change communications for organizational shifts, policy updates, and process changes — with clear messaging, timelines, and leader toolkits.
Develop and execute campaigns for benefits, Total Rewards, performance cycles, and open enrollment that drive awareness and participation.
Partner with Talent Acquisition on employer brand and recruitment marketing, connecting HR messaging with our external talent story.
Write and edit executive communications on behalf of HR leaders, including emails, town hall remarks, talking points, and intranet content.
Build manager and leader enablement materials so people leaders can carry messages forward with confidence and consistency.
Partner with Employee Resource Groups and culture programs to amplify employee voices and lived experience.
Measure effectiveness — open rates, engagement, sentiment, program participation — and use the data to sharpen what comes next.
Support sensitive and confidential communications with discretion, care, and sound judgment.
Use employee feedback, engagement data, and channel performance to continually improve communications strategies and content.
Help strengthen communications planning and coordination across HR so major initiatives are sequenced thoughtfully and employees aren't overwhelmed by competing messages.

Education and Experience Requirements:
