This is a people-focused M&A role within PC&C, working across the full mergers and acquisitions lifecycle, from assessing the people and organisational implications of potential acquisition opportunities through to integration planning and post-deal transformation. You'll work closely with leaders and teams across the business to bring people, processes, organisational structures, and ways of working together in a way that creates long-term value.

Success in this role requires strong PC&C/HR M&A expertise, analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to guide organisations through sophisticated periods of change. If you enjoy solving business challenges, working with a variety of customers, and making a visible impact, we'd love to hear from you!

What you'll do

As an M&A Consultant, you'll play a key role in delivering successful transactions and integration programmes by combining business insight, data-driven decision making, and strong communication skills.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting and leading PC&C activities across the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition transformation.
Assessing acquisition opportunities, identifying people, organisational and workforce impacts, value creation opportunities, and business risks.
Partnering with leaders and teams to shape future operating models, organisational structures, and integration plans.
Facilitating workshops and collaborative discussions to tackle business challenges and support decision-making.
Helping align cultures, behaviours, and ways of working while supporting employees through change.
Developing engagement and communication plans that keep employees informed, involved, and motivated.
Identifying leadership strengths, key talent, and organisational capability needs within acquired businesses.
Analysing business, people/workforce, and financial data to support recommendations and integration decisions.
Managing organisational change activities and helping teams adapt effectively to new structures and processes.
Working across multiple business functions to help achieve integration objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
Contributing ideas and insights that support BP's long-term growth and transformation ambitions.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who combine hands-on PC&C/HR M&A experience with strong consulting, organisational change, and problem-solving skills.

You may be a great fit if you have:

Demonstrable PC&C/HR experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestments or integrations, with experience across the people aspects of the M&A lifecycle.
Experience supporting people due diligence and/or post-deal integration, including areas such as organisational design, workforce planning, talent, culture, employee engagement, or change.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
Experience supporting organisational change, large-scale transformation, or integration programmes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence working with people at all levels of an organisation.
Experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and group decision-making sessions.
Knowledge of culture change, employee engagement, or organisational effectiveness programmes.
The ability to influence outcomes through collaboration, credibility, and strong relationship-building skills.
Sound judgement when handling sensitive people and organisational matters.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, financial modelling, and reporting.
An adaptable and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
Experience within a large multinational organisation or consulting environment is advantageous.

Why join our team?

At BP, we support our people to learn, grow, and do their best work in a diverse and challenging environment. We know that different experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds make us stronger, and we're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to thrive.

We also recognise that life extends beyond work. That's why we offer a range of benefits and flexible working options designed to help you balance your professional and personal commitments.
