📍 Location: Hybrid – 1–2 days a week in Rushden

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented Payroll Systems Tester to join a leading organisation on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in testing payroll system changes, integrations, and enhancements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a seamless payroll experience.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating across teams, and working within complex HR and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute test scripts for payroll system changes and integrations.
Work closely with IT teams and service providers to ensure updates are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
Capture and document test results for audit and quality assurance.
Simulate payroll scenarios to validate data accuracy and compliance.
Identify, log, and track bugs or issues through to resolution.
Support testing during key cycles such as Tax Year End and system updates.
Provide payroll systems expertise and guidance to HR and payroll teams.
Maintain up-to-date test documentation, process maps, and work instructions.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in payroll systems testing within complex environments.
Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and UK payroll legislation.
Experience with Oracle EBS Payroll (or similar systems).
Skilled in creating and managing test scripts, data, and simulations.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Confident working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
