Greys Specialist Recruitment are working with a well-established, growing business to recruit an HR Advisor (Operations) to join its HR team.

This is a varied, hands-on HR role supporting managers and employees across multiple UK locations. The successful candidate will take ownership of employee relations matters, provide practical advice on employment law and HR best practice, and help managers handle people-related issues confidently and consistently.

Alongside employee relations, the role will involve supporting performance management, delivering training, promoting employee wellbeing and contributing to wider HR projects and process improvements. It's an opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and making a tangible difference to the way a business manages and develops its people.

The Role

Manage employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence management and capability issues.
Provide guidance to managers on employment law, company policies and HR best practice.
Prepare investigation reports, formal correspondence and relevant HR documentation.
Support performance management processes, including the coordination and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans.
Coach and advise managers to strengthen their confidence and effectiveness in managing people.
Design and deliver training workshops, developing supporting materials, toolkits and e-learning resources where appropriate.
Support apprenticeship programmes and wider learning and development initiatives.
Contribute to employee wellbeing initiatives and help managers implement appropriate workplace adjustments.
Support HR projects, organisational development initiatives and improvements to HR systems, processes and policies.
Build effective relationships with managers and employees through regular visits to sites across the UK.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR matters are handled professionally, confidentially and in line with relevant legislation.
Work collaboratively with the wider HR team, providing support on investigations, hearings, training and other projects as required.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR professional with a strong background in employee relations and the confidence to advise managers across a varied operational environment.

You'll have sound knowledge of UK employment law, with practical experience managing investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence management and performance-related matters. You'll also be comfortable coaching managers, challenging decisions constructively where necessary and helping them reach fair, consistent and commercially sensible outcomes.

Experience designing and delivering training will be important, alongside strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. You'll need to be approachable and pragmatic, with the judgement to manage sensitive situations independently while recognising when more complex matters require escalation.

A CIPD Level 5 qualification is essential, as is a full UK driving licence. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, transport, recycling or another operationally focused environment would be advantageous. Additional experience in learning and development, apprenticeship programmes or HR systems would also be beneficial.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established and growing business where HR plays an important role in supporting operational performance, developing management capability and improving the employee experience.

You'll work as part of a collaborative HR team, with responsibility for your own area of expertise and the opportunity to contribute to wider projects and continuous improvement. The environment will suit someone who enjoys variety, values practical solutions and wants to build strong working relationships across a multi-site organisation.

Salary and Benefits

Salary of £35,000 to £42,000, depending on experience.
Full-time, permanent opportunity.
Monday to Friday working hours, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Varied role with exposure to multiple business locations and operational teams.
Opportunity to contribute to wider HR projects and professional development.
