Senior Change Manager (People Change)

Please note: this is not an IT change role. Candidates with a purely IT or technology change background will not be considered.

Mayfleet Recruitment is working with a national public sector organisation based in Somerset to find a Senior Change Manager to join its growing change function.

This is a people change role, focused on understanding and managing the impact of change on people across the organisation. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of internal transformation projects, from new ways of working and team structures to technology-enabled change.

The role

You’ll lead the people side of change on major projects, from impact assessment through to change plans, engagement and adoption. You’ll also coach project managers and senior leaders to deliver change well themselves.

As the function is still growing, a big part of the role is building change capability across the organisation. You’ll run change workshops, coach senior stakeholders on their role in change, and help the wider business understand what good people change looks like. You’ll need the confidence to give honest advice on change readiness, even when it isn’t what people want to hear.

What we’re looking for

strong experience as a people change manager, delivering change hands-on as well as coaching and advising others
a good working knowledge of ADKAR, and experience turning assessments into practical change plans
experience designing and running change workshops
credibility and influence with senior stakeholders
experience working in complex organisations with many stakeholders
a people-focused, approachable and positive approach to change

Organisational design experience would be a bonus but isn’t essential.
