This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for both strategic HR initiatives and day-to-day people operations. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead the development of people practices, strengthen manager capability, and support the organisation through growth and transformation.
The successful candidate will enjoy balancing operational delivery with long-term planning and will play a key role in shaping the employee experience across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HR function and deliver a high-quality people service across the organisation.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement people and culture initiatives.
- Act as the primary advisor on employee relations matters, including complex and sensitive cases.
- Coach and support managers on performance management, employee engagement, and leadership capability.
- Lead organisational change projects, including restructures and workforce planning initiatives.
- Review and enhance HR policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and support a positive workplace culture.
- Oversee recruitment processes, onboarding programmes, and workforce planning activities.
- Use people data and insights to identify trends and support business decision-making.
- Support learning, development, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
This role will suit someone who brings:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or HRBP in a standalone HR leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
- Experience managing complex HR cases independently.
- A track record of coaching and developing managers.
- Experience supporting organisational growth, change, or transformation projects.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- A commercial mindset combined with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent communication, judgement, and organisational skills.
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience).
