About
I'm a standalone HR Manager with several years' experience building HR functions from scratch in fast-paced SME environments. My particular strength is employee relations: managing complex ER cases end to end, from initial advice through investigation, hearing and outcome, while coaching managers to handle similar situations confidently in future rather than creating dependency on HR.
At my current employer, a 60-person B-Corp certified marketing agency, I've maintained a zero Employment Tribunal claim record throughout my career, achieved 100% participation in quarterly staff surveys by rebuilding a process employees had stopped trusting, and recruited 15 people in 12 months while designing the recruitment and onboarding process from the ground up. I wrote every HR policy and the employee handbook from nothing.
My background is unusual for HR: I spent several years in finance and operations before moving into people practice, including running my own businesses. That gives me genuine commercial fluency alongside legal and ER expertise, so the advice I give managers is grounded in how the business actually works, not just what the policy says.
I'm currently completing my Level 7 CIPD apprenticeship, and I'm looking for a role, hybrid or fully remote, on a salary of 45 to 50k with training investment, where I'm genuinely included in shaping the organisation's direction rather than brought in after the decisions are made.
