About
My interest in Learning and Development grew gradually through my career rather than from a single decision. I spent over a decade in banking, mainly working in marketing and communications, where I enjoyed working on projects, bringing people together and understanding what different audiences needed. Over time, I became increasingly curious about the people behind the work. What motivates people? Why do some teams work well together while others struggle? And how can organisations create an environment where people can develop and perform at their best?
That curiosity led me to study Psychological Science and later Occupational & Business Psychology. My studies gave me a deeper understanding of behaviour, motivation, leadership and organisations, and helped me see many of the workplace experiences I had encountered earlier in my career from a different perspective.
I then had the opportunity to bring that interest into practice at Unilever through Learning and Development. I worked on global learning initiatives, leadership development, digital learning, employee engagement and learning events. What I particularly enjoyed was seeing how something that starts as an organisational need can be turned into a learning experience that is practical and meaningful for people.
That is what continues to draw me to L&D. I enjoy the combination of people, psychology and practical delivery. I like understanding a need, working with others to find a solution and then seeing how that solution can help people learn, develop or work differently.
At this stage of my career, I am looking for an opportunity where I can build on what I have learnt so far, continue developing my L&D experience and contribute to work that has a tangible impact on people and the organisation.
