We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HR Change Manager to support a major organisational transformation programme across their European operations. This is a high-impact interim opportunity for an HR professional with deep expertise in managing complex workforce transitions and restructuring activities across multiple countries.
As the HR Change Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of a large-scale business transformation programme. This will involve leading HR change activities across multiple European markets, overseeing workforce transitions, redeployments, and strategic hiring to support the organisation's new structure. You'll act as a trusted HR partner to senior business leaders, working closely with regional HR teams to ensure compliance, transparency, and employee engagement throughout the transition. This is a hands-on role, balancing operational execution with strategic oversight to deliver people-centred change outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate HR change initiatives across Europe to support the successful implementation of the restructuring programme.
- Partner with country HR and business leaders to plan and deliver workforce transitions, including reductions in force, redeployments, and new role creation.
- Oversee consultation processes with employee representatives, unions, and works councils, ensuring legal compliance and effective communication.
- Develop and deliver change communication materials, transition documentation, and severance plans aligned with company policy.
- Provide expert guidance on European employment law, employee relations, and change management best practices.
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities for new roles aligned to the future operating model.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to manage risks, dependencies, and key project milestones, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and respect throughout all phases of change.
- Deliver clear and consistent messaging to employees, supporting engagement and understanding during the transition period.
About You:
- Proven HR leadership or senior business partnering experience across multiple European countries.
- Strong understanding of European employment law, including redundancy, consultation, and TUPE/transfer of undertakings processes.
- Track record of successfully managing restructuring, organisational change, or integration programmes.
- Ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced, and matrixed environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel across Europe as required (approximately 20-30%).
- Experience in change communications, HR project management, or organisational design.
- Familiarity with HR transformation programmes or shared service transitions.
