HR Officer

- Working Arrangement: Hybrid - Office based for first 4-weeks followed by 3-dasy per week in-office
Bolton Council are seeking an HR Officer to join their HR team. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of high-quality HR services and providing advice on employment law and HR policies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing a range of HR casework and contributing to the development of our HR practices.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work as part of the HR team to support the delivery of an effective, high-quality service.
- Provide high-quality advice to managers on employment law and the Council’s people policy framework.
- Support managers in operating the HR policy framework, including Recruitment & Selection, Grievance, Disciplinary, Managing Absence, and Managing Capability.
- Offer advice, guidance, and support to managers and staff regarding Terms and Conditions and Employee Relations issues.
- Manage a caseload of HR issues such as grievances, disciplinaries, and absence management, ensuring these are progressed in line with our policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Current HR experience with a strong capability in managing casework including grievances, disciplinaries, and absence management.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.
- Ideally hold Level 5 CIPD
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with all levels of staff and management.
