DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead and develop our clients Human Resources function. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll oversee everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, compliance, and policy development. You’ll be the go-to expert for all HR matters, shaping our people experience and ensuring smooth, legally compliant operations across the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Onboarding- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including adverts, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Support line managers with interviewing skills, legal compliance, and best practice.
- Prepare and issue new starter documentation, including handbooks, contracts, and onboarding packs.
Employee Lifecycle Management- Oversee leaver processes: notice, returns of property, holiday calculations, and payroll updates.
- Manage long-term absence cases, including OH referrals, consultations, medical reports, and reasonable adjustments.
- Lead short-term absence management, chairing review meetings and supporting improved attendance.
- Manage family-friendly requests (parental leave, flexible working), ensuring full legislative compliance.
Employee Relations- Lead disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policy and the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Organise, chair, and minute Union meetings as required.
- Oversee TUPE transfers and redundancy consultations, working closely with legal advisors.
Policy, Compliance & HR Governance- Review and update HR policies in line with changes to employment legislation, case law, and best practice.
- Lead on HR projects and service improvements, consulting with managers, employees, and Union reps.
- Manage Drugs & Alcohol Policy, including arranging random and for-cause testing.
Uniform & PPE Management- Oversee all uniform and PPE processes, ensuring cost-effective procurement and appropriate stock levels.
- Ensure accurate issuing, stock control, returns, and proper disposal of old items.
What Our client are Looking For- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidelines.
- Proven HR management experience across recruitment, ER, absence management, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and organisational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with tact, professionalism, and discretion.
- Confident working independently and supporting managers across the business.
- Onsite presence required
