Our client is a well-established trading house seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support its UK operations within a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment. The role is fully office based, Monday to Friday.
The position suits an HR professional who brings strong generalist capability alongside specialist depth in one of the following areas: payroll, benefits, employment law, recruitment, or HR MI reporting. The successful candidate will have prior experience within financial services and be comfortable operating in a performance-driven trading culture.
Role overview
The HR Generalist will deliver high-quality operational HR support while acting as the subject matter expert within their specialist area. The role requires sound judgement, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to operate confidently in an office-based trading environment.
Key responsibilities
Provide end-to-end HR generalist support across the employee lifecycle
Act as the internal specialist within payroll, benefits, employment law, recruitment, or MI reporting
Advise managers on UK employment law, policies, and employee relations matters
Support recruitment activity including role scoping, hiring processes, and onboarding
Oversee or support payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
Produce and maintain HR MI reports to support management reporting and decision-making
Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee records in line with financial services standards
Support HR projects and process improvements aligned with business priorities
The idea candidate will have:
- Proven experience in an HR Generalist role within financial services or a trading house environment
- Specialist expertise in one core HR discipline: payroll, benefits, employment law, recruitment, or HR MI
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Comfortable working in a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism
- Confident communicator able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
