We’re working with a growing business that’s just moved into a new site and is now looking to bring in their first dedicated HR Manager. With around 60 people across operational and professional roles, they’re at a really exciting stage where HR can make a genuine impact.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll build the HR function from the ground up while also partnering closely with leadership to support the next phase of growth.

The role
You’ll be the go-to person for all things HR, balancing strategy with day-to-day support. From hiring and onboarding to building policies and developing people, you’ll have full ownership of the function.
Key areas include:
Recruitment & Onboarding

Managing hiring across operational and office-based roles

Improving recruitment processes and candidate experience

Overseeing onboarding and initial training
Policies & Compliance

Creating and maintaining HR policies and the employee handbook

Ensuring the business stays compliant with employment law and industry regulations

Supporting managers with employee relations matters
Learning & Development

Building training plans, development pathways, and upskilling initiatives

Supporting managers with coaching and team development

Running reviews and development plans
Performance & Culture

Driving performance management and continuous improvement

Supporting engagement and helping build a positive, down-to-earth culture
Operational HR Support

Working closely with teams across operations, transport, finance, and IT

Supporting areas like H&S, training, and workforce planning

Providing HR insights to support decision-making
About you
-
Proven experience in an HR Manager role, ideally in logistics, manufacturing, or a similar environment

CIPD qualified (or equivalent)

Strong understanding of employment law and compliance

Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on
-
Confident working independently and building processes from scratch
