Your new companyA large and complex public sector organisation is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its established People & Organisational Development function. Operating across corporate services and educational settings, the organisation is committed to delivering high-quality, people-focused services and driving continuous improvement through its workforce strategy.
This will be a 6-month temporary post.Your new roleAs an HR Business Partner, you will act as a strategic and operational partner to senior leaders, managers, and headteachers. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering people strategies aligned to organisational objectives, while supporting a diverse workforce through periods of change and transformation.Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with leadership teams to plan and anticipate workforce needs, providing strategic HR insight and solutions
- Leading on organisational change programmes, including restructures, TUPE transfers, and service redesign
- Providing expert advice and coaching on employee relations, performance management, and policy application
- Managing a complex caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues
- Supporting the delivery of organisational development initiatives, including workforce planning, engagement, and wellbeing
- Delivering training, workshops, and briefings to managers on HR policy, employment law, and best practice
- Working in partnership with trade unions and external stakeholders to promote effective employee relations
- Driving proactive HR interventions to address underlying workforce challenges and improve organisational performance
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will be an experienced HR professional with strong business partnering capability and a track record of operating in a complex, fast-paced environment.You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role
- Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment law
- Experience delivering change management and transformation programmes
- Ability to influence, coach, and challenge senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, solution-focused approach to complex people issues
- CIPD qualification (Level 5/7) or equivalent experience (desirable)
Experience working within education or the public sector would be advantageous but is not essential.What you'll get in return
