HR Policy Consultant- Rate: £350 per day (outside IR35)
- Contract: Until September 2026 (initially)
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid (West Midlands office-based)
We are seeking an experienced HR Policy Consultant to review, refresh and enhance HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are modern, compliant and aligned with organisational needs and digital transformation priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Review, refresh and update HR policies and procedures to ensure they remain current, compliant and effective
- Collaborate with the HR team to co-develop and improve HR documentation and guidance
- Ensure all policies align with the Council’s Co-Pilot digital environment and wider HR digital framework
- Improve the manager experience across key HR processes including performance management, absence, appraisal and objective setting
Candidate Requirements- Proven experience in HR policy development, review and implementation
- Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management and core HR processes
- Experience working collaboratively with HR teams and key stakeholders
- Ability to translate policy into clear, practical and user-friendly guidance for managers
- Familiarity with digital HR systems or HR transformation programmes (desirable)
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Track record of improving HR processes and enhancing user/manager experience
