We are currently working in partnership with a values-led not-for-profit organisation based in Coventry who are recruiting for a People Advisor on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract.
Paying £33,093 - £37,682, this role offers excellent flexible working opportunities, including the chance to do a 9-day fortnight, 2 days home working and flexible start/finish times.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience managing employee relations casework, strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practice and ACAS guidance, and the ability to provide pragmatic, professional advice to managers and colleagues across the full employee lifecycle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing high-quality, timely people advice to managers and colleagues across in-person, online and telephone interactions
- Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance management and probation reviews
- Coaching and supporting line managers to build confidence and consistency in people management, including handling sensitive conversations
- Preparing formal people documentation, including ER correspondence, absence review letters, maternity documentation and other employee lifecycle materials
- Maintaining accurate personnel records, case files, organisational reports and essential trackers in line with GDPR requirements
- Supporting recruitment activity, including advert creation, vacancy posting, candidate enquiries, interview logistics, Right to Work checks, references, offers and contracts
- Contributing to organisational change initiatives, people projects, SOP development, inductions and people management training
- Supporting health, wellbeing and occupational health processes, including medical discussion meetings, reasonable adjustments and Occupational Health referrals
Experience required:
- Demonstrable experience managing employee relations casework, including absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance management
- Experience supporting organisational change initiatives and working effectively with managers and senior stakeholders
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
- Strong experience using HR systems, with the ability to act as a knowledgeable system user or superuser
- Excellent communication, judgement, organisation and relationship-building skills, with high levels of discretion and confidentiality
