Our client, a successful multi-site manufacturing business, is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to lead and develop its HR function. This standalone position is the most senior HR role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape people strategy while delivering hands-on HR support across the business.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, partnering with senior leaders to drive engagement, performance, talent development and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the HR function, acting as the primary HR adviser to the leadership team.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of the business.
- Manage complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance cases.
- Provide commercially focused HR advice and coach managers on people-related matters.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and succession planning activities.
- Drive talent development, performance management and learning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR policies and GDPR requirements.
- Produce HR reporting and workforce data to support business decisions.
- Support organisational change, restructures and business transformation projects.
About You
You will be a commercially minded HR professional with experience operating at a senior level and comfortable working both strategically and operationally.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior HR Generalist, HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
- Experience operating as the most senior HR professional within a business or business unit.
- Strong employee relations experience, including complex case management.
- Manufacturing, engineering or operational sector experience.
- Multi-site HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience supporting organisational change and restructuring activity.
- Experience using HR systems and workforce reporting.
Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
- CIPD Level 7 desirable.
