Interim HR Manager
Location: Huddersfield (primarily site-based, supporting multiple locations across West Yorkshire) Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (3-6 months) Salary: Competitive
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join a growing organisation on a 3-6 month fixed-term contract to provide immediate operational and strategic HR support during a period of transition.
Supporting a workforce across 17 sites, including several corporate locations, this role will play a critical part in stabilising the HR function, ensuring delivery of key people processes, and providing coaching and support to a developing HR team.
This is a hands-on position requiring an individual who can quickly assess priorities, implement controls and processes, and provide confident guidance across a range of complex employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and strategic HR support across multiple sites.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and senior stakeholders on all people-related matters.
- Support and coach the existing HR Manager, helping to develop capability and confidence within the team.
- Review, improve and embed HR processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Manage and prioritise a busy HR workload, ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Work closely with the HR team to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Oversee general HR administration and case management processes.
- Support the team in maximising the use of the People+ HR system.
- Identify process gaps and implement appropriate controls and governance measures.
- Assist with organisational change projects, including consultation exercises and TUPE activity.
- Support the mobilisation of new services and associated people processes.
- Monitor workloads and develop sustainable approaches to managing high-volume activity, including job change requests and organisational updates.
About the Team
You will join a small HR team of approximately 4-5 employees currently experiencing a significant period of change.
Many team members are relatively new to the organisation, including members of the HR administration and management team. The successful individual will play a key role in providing stability, coaching colleagues, and helping the team establish effective ways of working.

We are looking for an experienced and resilient HR professional who can quickly build credibility and make an immediate impact.
You will have:
- Significant generalist HR experience at Manager or Senior HR level.
- Strong employee relations expertise and the confidence to manage complex cases.
- Experience balancing both strategic and operational HR responsibilities.
- A track record of improving HR processes, controls and service delivery.
- Experience coaching and developing HR colleagues.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience working with HR systems, ideally People+.
- Previous experience within public sector, healthcare, or similarly regulated environments.
