Droitwich based – 4 days on site, Fridays working from home
We are proud to be partnering with a well-established
organisation in identifying an experienced HR Advisor to support
their business in Droitwich. With experience in HR generalist
roles, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering or similar
operational environment, you will join an established business
and provide hands-on HR support across the employee lifecycle.
As a key member of the HR team, you'll provide first-line HR
advice and guidance, supporting and coaching managers in line
with HR policies, procedures and current legislation.
You will be able to build strong relationships with key
stakeholders, provide practical solutions to employee relations
matters and support wider HR initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Advisor:
Employee Relations
* Provide advice, recommendations and resolutions to ensure
hands-on support, guidance and a high-quality service on all
day-to-day employee relations matters.
* Lead and advise managers on disciplinary, grievance and
capability issues, ensuring adherence to policy and legislation.
* Record and monitor sickness absence, working with line managers
to recognise patterns and support the application of the absence
management procedure.
* Monitor, review and update local HR policies, ensuring these
remain current and aligned with legislation.
* Work with Occupational Health to ensure that mandatory health
checks and reviews take place as required. Make employee
referrals, request specialist reports and support the development
of appropriate action plans.
HR Data
* Update and maintain the HR Information System.
* Manage HR records, systems and metrics, ensuring employee
information is current, complete and accurate.
* Advise payroll of required changes, including new starters,
leavers, salary changes and sickness absence, ensuring
information is accurate and provided in a timely manner.
* Assist the HR Manager in providing information and reporting to
managers to support their roles and the effective management of
their teams.
* Report and monitor sickness and absence, including the use of
Bradford Factor reporting.
Recruitment and Onboarding
* Lead full-cycle recruitment activity for professional,
technical, administrative and production positions.
* Provide an effective onboarding programme for new hires,
ensuring appropriate orientation and training programmes are
established.
* Support management by monitoring and actioning probation
periods, compensation changes and job changes.
Training and Development
* Organise UK training activity, including maintaining the
Training Plan, Skills Matrix and associated training records.
* Obtain training course evaluation forms and monitor and report
on feedback.
* Support the Talent Development Life Cycle, ensuring reviews are
completed and recorded and supporting identified employee
development activities.
* Provide local support for training events and assist management
with the development of employees.
HR Goals and Strategy
* Support the rollout of wider HR programmes and initiatives,
including performance management, recognition, reward and
training.
* Assist with initiatives designed to improve employee engagement
and productivity.
* Help develop effective communication and feedback channels
across the workforce.
Key requirements of the HR Advisor:
* University degree and/or CIPD Level 5 qualification or
currently working towards this.
* 2+ years' experience within an HR Advisor/generalist HR role.
* Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or similar
operational organisation is preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the
ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with
people at all levels across the business.
* Good organisational and administrative skills, with working
knowledge of HR systems and processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, logical and
solutions-focused approach to employee relations and conflict
management.
