Corporate Health & Safety Adviser (Fire Safety & Built Environment)

Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with specialist expertise in Fire Safety? We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Corporate Health & Safety Adviser to play a key role in shaping and maintaining a positive safety culture across our diverse property portfolio.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who has experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments, advising on fire compliance, and supporting the safety management of complex buildings. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, influencing best practice and ensuring compliance across fire safety, health & safety, and built environment legislation.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead on fire safety compliance across a varied built environment portfolio.
- Conduct and review Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring actions are implemented and monitored through to completion.
- Provide expert advice on fire safety legislation, compliance, and best practice.
- Coordinate and deliver health & safety programmes, inspections, audits, fire drills, and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Investigate incidents and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain risk assessments, policies, procedures, COSHH assessments, and guidance documents.
- Deliver engaging health & safety and fire safety training to managers and employees.
- Support regulatory inspections and liaise with enforcing authorities including the HSE and Fire & Rescue Services.
- Monitor compliance performance and provide clear reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a dedicated Health & Safety role within a built environment, property, facilities, housing, estates, education, or similar setting.
- Practical experience carrying out or managing Fire Risk Assessments.
- Strong working knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk management principles.
- Experience producing detailed risk assessments, reports, and safety documentation.
- Ability to confidently advise, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
- TechIOSH membership (or working towards).
Highly Desirable:
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate.
- Level 3 or Level 4 Fire Safety qualification.
- Experience managing fire safety within large, complex, or multi-site buildings.
- CertIOSH, GradIOSH, or higher.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience dealing directly with Fire & Rescue Services and regulatory inspections.
