Reed HR are working alongside a large Not for Profit Organisation based in East London who are urgently recruiting for an experienced Interim HR Officer on a part time basis for 8 hours per week. This can be split into two 4 hour days, depending on the candidates availability.
This role is also office based and is likely to last up until February 2027.
Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys operational HR work, employee relations support, and contributing to wider people initiatives.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is comfortable managing day-to-day HR activities, providing first-line advice to managers and employees, and supporting a range of HR projects. It is not a senior HR Business Partner position; the organisation is seeking a practical HR generalist who can quickly integrate into the team and provide operational support during a period of additional business need.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a range of HR matters.
- Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding and induction activities.
- Assist with absence management, probation reviews and flexible working requests.
- Provide guidance on family leave policies and procedures.
- Respond to routine HR queries and policy-related matters.
- Ensure HR records, documentation and systems remain accurate and compliant.
- Support compliance and governance processes.
- Assist with policy reviews, updates and implementation.
- Contribute to workforce planning initiatives, HR projects and organisational improvement programmes.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
Person Specifications
- Previous experience within an HR Advisor, Junior HR Advisor or HR Officer position.
- Strong generalist HR knowledge across a broad range of employee relations and HR operational activities.
- Experience supporting managers and employees with day-to-day HR queries.
- Good understanding of absence management, probation management, flexible working and family leave processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
