We’re working with a highly respected professional services client based in St Albans who is looking for a HR Manager to help foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture where people thrive.
This is a hands-on, strategic HR role working closely with the Head of People. You'll lead core HR functions, support employee wellbeing, and play a key role in shaping organisational culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Lifecycle
- Lead, coach and develop the People Officer
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, payroll, pensions, performance management, and offboarding
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and standards
- Develop HR data dashboards to support decision-making
Employee Relations & Culture
- First point of contact for HR queries approachable and solutions-focused
- Manage employee relations and absence patterns professionally
- Support training needs analysis and deliver internal training
- Drive key people projects: apprenticeships, L&D initiatives, trainee programmes
- Stay current with employment law and HR best practices
What You’ll Need
- Strong experience in a managerial or senior advisory HR role
- Background in professional services
- CIPD Level 5 or relevant degree
- Excellent UK employment law knowledge
- Experience managing high-volume HR operations
- Strong communication and stakeholder influencing skills
- Confident using HR systems and working with HR data
- A proactive, empathetic, and discreet approach
