Senior HR Advisor
Brighton, East Sussex
The Senior HR Advisor is responsible for managing Employee Relations (ER) cases across the group. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role provides expert ER advice and support to managers and staff, enabling managers to foster an inclusive, safe, and effective workplace. You will support managers in handling absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievance matters, while helping to build a culture that attracts and retains talent.
This Senior HR Advisor role involves travel across East Sussex and can be based at multiple sites for 2-3 days per week. You will have full autonomy to plan your diary and choose your site days.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Employee Relations support, ensuring compliance with policies, best practice, and employment law.
- Upskill line managers through briefings, guidance, and training on HR policies and processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent understanding and application of HR policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Oversee aspects of recruitment, including shortlisting candidates and coordinating interviews, as required.
- Contribute to HR projects that enhance processes, policies, and organisational performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Employee Relations and solid understanding of employment law.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and guidance to all levels of staff.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, highlight issues, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
Qualifications & Attributes
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)
- Strong ER case management experience
