Description
- Provide clear, practical HR advice to managers on employee relations matters, assessing risk and ensuring appropriate outcomes
- Manage a varied caseload, with a focus on long- and short-term absence, disciplinary, and grievance cases
- Support senior management with Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases, ensuring compliance with company policy, employment law, and best practice
- Coach and guide managers through telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Build and maintain positive working relationships while delivering consistent HR guidance
- Accurately record, track, and monitor casework using case management systems and spreadsheets
- Review and update company policies in line with legislative changes and business needs
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Employee Relations team
- Stay up to date with current employment legislation and HR best practice
- Effectively manage a high-volume workload within a large, fast-paced organisation
Profile
A successful HR Advisor should have:
- Previous experience in a similar HR role, ideally within the retail industry.
- A strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with great attention to detail.
- The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
- CIPD qualification or working towards it would be advantageous.
