Employee Relations Manager Greater Manchester - hybrid working Permanent £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
I am delighted to be retained by a high growth organisation to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Manager. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to shape and strengthen ER capability while leading from the front on complex casework.
You'll take ownership of the organisation's most challenging employee relations matters, guiding cases through to resolution with a balanced, commercially aware approach. Alongside this, you'll lead and develop a small team of HR Advisors, embedding high standards, consistency, and a strong coaching culture.
A key focus of the role is acting as the organisation's subject matter expert for TUPE, managing transfers end-to-end and advising senior stakeholders through organisational change. Experience working within a unionised environment is essential, as you'll play an active role in building effective relationships with trade unions and supporting collective consultation activity.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading on complex ER issues across disciplinaries, grievances, performance, absence, and investigations
- Managing TUPE activity from due diligence through to consultation and implementation
- Supporting business change programmes, including restructures and redundancy processes
- Developing and guiding a team of HR Advisors to deliver a consistent, high-quality ER service
- Partnering with senior leaders to provide clear, pragmatic advice on risk and employment legislation
What we're looking for:
- Strong background in managing complex ER casework within a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Proven experience overseeing TUPE processes and working within unionised settings
- Previous experience leading or mentoring HR professionals
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and its practical application
You'll be someone who operates with confidence and credibility, able to influence at senior level while remaining calm under pressure working at pace. With a solutions-focused mindset, you'll anticipate challenges, communicate clearly, and bring a pragmatic, commercially balanced approach to decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a visible, impactful role where you can shape the ER agenda and make a real difference across the organisation.
Salary in the region of £55,000 - £60,000 plus a competitive benefits offering.
