We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / ER Advisor / Employer Relations Advisor for an initial 3-month contract via Hays.This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive Employee Relations service, supporting managers and staff across a complex, multi-site environment.You will join a busy ER function and be responsible for managing casework, providing expert advice, and supporting the delivery of people initiatives that improve workforce experience and organisational outcomes.Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employee relations issues including:
- Absence and ill-health
- Disciplinary and grievance
- Performance and capability matters
- Act as a first point of contact for managers, providing advice on HR policies, employment law, and best practice.
- Support and advise on investigations and participate in formal hearings for less complex ER cases
- Analyse ER data (e.g. sickness absence trends) and provide insight to support decision-making
- Support organisational change activities, ensuring compliance with People policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reporting, governance, and audit requirements
- Contribute to training and coaching managers, building capability and promoting best practice
Person Specification
- Proven experience in an Employee Relations / HR Advisory role, ideally within the public sector
- Strong experience managing ER casework end-to-end
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR policies
- Confident advising managers and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy caseload
- Available at short notice / immediately (highly desirable)
