Interim HR Generalist - *Must have experience in professional services sector*
8-month interim contract
Location - Northwest, Remote initially moving to 2 days per week on-site in the Tameside area.
Salary – c £200 per day (Outside IR35)
Hours – Full time
Availability – Immediate start required
CIPD Membership – CIPD Level 5 desirable but not essential
This is a hands-on HR Generalist role with a strong emphasis on compliance, payroll preparation, and people administration, ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, structure, and delivering a high-quality employee experience.
The Role
Working as part of a busy People function, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all HR processes run smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently across the employee lifecycle.
You’ll take ownership of administrative processes, support payroll preparation, and ensure all employee data and documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HR administration across the full employee lifecycle (contracts, onboarding, changes, leavers)
- Ensure all employee records are compliant, accurate, and maintained to a high standard
- Prepare and validate payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate submission to payroll
- Support benefits administration and maintain associated records
- Assist with onboarding processes, right to work checks, and compliance documentation
- Maintain HR systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Support recruitment coordination and candidate onboarding
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth people processes
- Contribute to improving HR processes, compliance controls, and documentation
About You
- Previous experience in a HR/People Coordinator or HR Generalist role
- Essential: Exposure to payroll processes, including preparing or inputting payroll data
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working with HR systems, data, and documentation
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment is advantageous
- MUST HAVE experience in professional services sector
