The Role As HR Officer, you’ll provide comprehensive HR support across a wide range of operational and advisory areas. You’ll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied effectively while supporting a high-performing and engaged workforce.This is a hands-on role that blends advisory work, HR administration, data analysis, systems support and employee lifecycle activity. Key Responsibilities
- Providing HR support across multiple UK business units within a Shared Service Centre environment
- Supporting managers with employee relations queries, offering clear guidance and practical advice
- Acting as a first point of contact for employee HR queries
- Supporting recruitment and selection activity, including managing the ATS system
- Overseeing onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and positive employee experience
- Maintaining and developing HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and business needs
- Supporting performance management, appraisal and probation processes
- Assisting with training and development initiatives across the business
- Supporting employee engagement activities alongside the HR Business Partner
- Producing HR reports, analysing data and presenting insights to stakeholders
- Supporting HRIS systems administration and continuous improvement
- Managing central HR inbox queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Supporting payroll and HR administrative processes
- Assisting with family-friendly leave queries and related employee support
- Ensuring compliance requirements are met across HR processes
- Providing flexible support across wider HR projects and initiatives as required
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist or HR Officer role
- Strong understanding of HR processes, policies and UK employment law
- Experience working within a fast-paced, multi-site or shared service environment
- Confident handling HR systems (HRIS experience highly desirable)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work with agility
- Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working independently
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
- Experience within logistics or operational environments would be advantageous
