Are you looking for a Senior People & Culture Advisor role in a small supportive team? This is a generalist role with a focus on employee relations cases, mostly grievances and appeals which you’ll own, supported by a People Advisor in the team. As well as the opportunity to be involved in the wider project work: wellbeing, engagement, and similar areas the team is keen to develop.
You’ll be based primarily at one site in Newcastle, with monthly travel to a second site where you’ll be the HR point of contact. The business is in manufacturing, so conversations span directors through to people on the shop floor and adapting how you speak to different audiences is part of the job.
There’s daily contact with senior leadership, and you’ll be expected to advise, challenge, and coach people to make the right decisions
The work involves
- Owning the complex ER cases, predominantly grievances and appeals
- Being the HR point of contact at the smaller site, with regular visits
- Advising senior leaders day-to-day and challenging where appropriate
- Supporting managers to have better coaching conversations with their teams
- Leading on wellbeing and engagement projects
You’ll need
- Strong generalist advisor experience, with employee relations at the core
- Confidence dealing with and communicating across all levels of the business
- The ability to adapt your style to suit the audience
- Sound judgement and willing to push back when needed
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, or working towards it
- Manufacturing or multi-site experience is preferred but not essential

- Hybrid working, 3 to 4 days a week in the office
