Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced HR Officer to join their team. This is initially a 6 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant
You will
- Resolve queries from a range of internal and external stakeholders by providing information, advice, and guidance regarding HR and OD operational processes and systems, escalating complex cases to more senior colleagues, so Council staff have an increased understanding of HR and OD procedures.
- Provide on the job training and guidance to Council staff to ensure they are able to develop the necessary skills to manage their people resources fairly and effectively.
- Where required, manage and maintain HR and OD databases and records to reflect decision-making, ensuring employee information is retained in line with statutory frameworks including GDPR.
- Build effective working relationships within the Council to enable the delivery of high-quality professional services with guidance from more senior HR and OD officers and colleagues within the function.
- Collate and compile key HR and OD metrics in accordance with clearly defined requirements, generate standardised reports and submit routine information, to support effective and timely HR and OD management reporting.
- Participate in specific HR and OD operational projects, such as organisational restructuring, culture initiatives, and process improvements, to support the enhancement of the service to the Council.
- Undertake general financial processing activity, such as raising invoices and purchase orders on behalf of the HR and OD department, to support in ensuring operational efficiency and consistency.
- Lead on a range of financial administration activity which may have complexity to ensure accurate financial records are kept up to date, accurate and monitored with regular financial reporting to the Senior Management Team.
