Learning & Development Manager
Location: Norfolk and has an office in London
£45k-£50k plus performance and company related bonus
Hybrid 1 day working with home, you will also be expected to be on site in London once or twice a week.
We are excited to introduce a newly created Learning & Development Manager role, pivotal to driving performance excellence across our client’s organisation.
This position will take ownership of our performance management framework while leading learning and development, enhancing leadership capability, and supporting engagement and recognition initiatives.
You will play a key role in embedding a high-performance culture, ensuring managers are equipped, confident, and accountable for developing their teams.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Management
- Own and drive the organisation’s performance management framework
- Ensure consistent performance check-ins, goal setting, and development conversations across all teams
- Train and support managers to set SMART objectives and manage performance effectively
- Challenge and influence managers and senior leaders where standards are not met
- Develop practical tools, templates, and resources to support effective people management
- Monitor the quality, completion, and impact of performance reviews
- Maintain accurate performance data and reporting within the HRIS system
- Identify high performers and support targeted development plans
Learning & Development
- Lead and deliver L&D initiatives aligned to business performance and capability growth
- Identify training needs and design impactful learning programmes
- Deliver training to enhance leadership and performance management skills
- Evaluate the effectiveness of development initiatives
- Hold managers accountable for developing their teams
Employee Engagement
- Lead engagement initiatives to maintain high motivation and commitment levels
- Manage engagement surveys, analyse insights, and support action planning
- Monitor trends and provide recommendations to improve engagement
Culture & Recognition
- Support initiatives that reinforce company values and high-performance behaviours
- Lead employee recognition programmes that celebrate success
- Promote a strong culture of recognition across the business
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience leading performance management processes
- Strong track record of training and influencing managers
- Confidence in delivering constructive feedback at all levels
- Experience designing and delivering L&D initiatives
- Experience developing leadership capability
- Excellent organisational, project management, and communication skills
- Passion for developing people and enhancing organisational performance
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards)
- Experience supporting engagement or culture initiatives
- Background in a multi-team or complex business environment
