I’m looking for an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead the delivery of Talent Acquisition (experienced hire), Learning & Development, and Performance Management services across a complex, professional services environment.
This is a pivotal operational leadership role with both day-to-day delivery and longer-term strategic impact. You’ll play a key role in shaping how these services evolve over the next 2–3 years, while ensuring current operations run efficiently, consistently, and with a strong focus on detail and quality.
This role is ideal for someone who is operationally strong but strategically aware, someone who enjoys getting into the detail, while also contributing to the bigger picture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition, Learning & Performance Delivery
- Lead the delivery of experienced-hire Talent Acquisition services, ensuring they are efficient, seamless, and fully compliant
- Address immediate challenges within TA, particularly around optimising Workday functionality (including recruitment processes such as interview scheduling) and supporting adoption
- Support the implementation of improvements and guide the team through change management initiatives, particularly in evolving tech and AI-enabled solutions
- Oversee Learning & Development programmes, building on the recent implementation of Workday Learning and shaping how learning is managed moving forward
- Support and deliver key activities within the annual performance cycle
- Monitor service performance across Talent Acquisition, Learning, and Performance, driving continuous improvement
Systems, Technology & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the ongoing optimisation of Workday and associated HR technologies, ensuring they meet business requirements effectively
- Work closely with technical teams and developers, translating business needs into clear requirements and ensuring delivery is fit for purpose
- Play a key role in reviewing and refining existing system implementations, including unpicking and improving current recruitment system processes
- Support ongoing development of Workday Learning and future enhancements
- Use data and insight to evaluate service performance and identify opportunities for improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading HR operational services, ideally across Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and/or Performance
- A strong operational mindset, with the ability to balance day-to-day delivery and longer-term strategic objectives
- Experience working with Workday (or similar HR systems), including improving and embedding system functionality
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, working effectively with developers and system specialists
- Experience supporting change and transformation programmes, particularly within HR technology or service delivery
- Clear understanding of the difference between operational HR delivery and business partnering, with a preference for hands-on operational leadership
- Strong stakeholder management skills within complex, professional environments
- A continuous improvement mindset, using data, feedback, and insight to enhance service quality
- Knowledge of employment legislation, HR policy, and best practice
