Our client a leading UK charity is looking for an experienced Interim HR Manager to join their small, friendly and dedicated HR team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This is a varied and impactful role created to support the delivery of key people-related projects and activities that underpin the organisation's strategic aims.
Reporting directly to the HR Director, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to make a real difference in a values-driven organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Engagement & Wellbeing
- Lead the Staff Engagement Committee in developing and launching a 12-month Wellbeing Calendar of activities
- Chair and manage monthly engagement committee meetings, ensuring strong representation and follow-through on initiatives
- Manage quarterly staff awards panels and review the scheme as needed
Onboarding & Induction
- Develop and launch a comprehensive onboarding and induction programme covering compliance, values, EDI and departmental modules
- Produce clear manager guidelines and supporting materials
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver recruitment training for managers, ensuring inclusive and best practice standards are met
- Work with the HR team to develop the annual training plan, sourcing external and in-house solutions within budget
- Explore and recommend career development opportunities for staff
HR Advice & Business as Usual
- Manage and advise on complex employee relations cases
- Provide guidance and support to the HR Officer in the HR Director's absence
- Oversee annual leave, TOIL entitlements and year-end increment processes
- Provide cover for HR processing activities as required
About You- CIPD qualified at Level 5 or above, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience managing and delivering HR projects and change programmes
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, onboarding, training and development best practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coaching skills
- Good attention to detail, particularly around HR systems and data
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- Experience providing advice on complex ER issues
- Experience working within a charity, membership organisation, healthcare, or higher education institution (Desirable)
