MRD Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join my global FMCG client and play a pivotal role in driving the people agenda at their manufacturing site to shape the future of their people and business. You will be based in Port Glasgow and report into the HR Director.

You'll lead the site HR function, influence strategic decision-making and help create a high-performing, engaged workforce while contributing to wider regional and global HR initiatives.
As the Senior HR Business Partner, based in Port Glasgow you will be the HR Site Lead and be a trusted member of the Site Leadership Team, providing strategic and operational HR support across the full employee life-cycle. Working closely with leaders across the business, you'll champion best practice, strengthen organisational capability and help shape a culture where people and performance thrive.
You'll also lead the local HR team, ensuring they are supported, developed and empowered to deliver an outstanding HR service.
What You'll Be Doing as the Senior HR Business Partner, based in Port Glasgow;
- Lead HR transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, capability and overall site performance.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and deliver people strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Coach and influence managers on organisational design, leadership development, talent planning and performance management.
- Lead, develop and inspire the site HR team.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring commercially balanced and legally compliant outcomes.
- Analyse people data and trends to identify opportunities that improve engagement, retention and performance.
- Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning to build future organisational capability.
- Drive annual performance management processes, ensuring consistency and high standards across the site.
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and global HR colleagues on strategic projects and business-wide initiatives.
- Continuously review and improve HR policies, processes and ways of working to deliver an exceptional employee experience.
About You
You'll be an experienced HR professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment. You will report into the HR Director and be based in Port Glasgow.
You'll bring:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or above).
- Significant experience in a senior HR Business Partner or HR leadership role.
- A proven track record of leading HR transformation, organisational change or business improvement programmes.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align people strategies to business priorities.
- Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders and building trusted relationships across all levels.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and extensive employee relations experience.
- Confidence managing multiple priorities, projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
