HR Specialist

We are seeking an HR Specialist to support all UK employees throughout their entire 'employee lifecycle'. This role involves providing high-quality guidance on employee recruitment, retention, evaluating performance, and maintaining employee relations. As the first point of contact for managers and employees on any ER issues, this position is crucial for fostering a supportive and compliant workplace.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide advice, guidance, and coaching to managers and colleagues across the company on ER and people matters.
- Review and draft UK HR policies for approval, ensuring alignment with current legislation and our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Lead capability investigations, including grievance, disciplinary, and performance issues.
- Assist managers with managing persistent and long-term sickness absences.
- Collaborate with the global HR team to update and manage the global appraisal system on HRIS.
- Manage staff relationships, respond to queries or problems, and manage expectations.
- Advise managers on recruitment and selection strategies and train hiring managers on candidate interview evaluation techniques.
- Review and update job descriptions, conduct exit interviews, and provide analysis of trends.
- Prepare costings for inclusion in the global training budget for review and approval.
- Attend employment law updates and seminars to ensure the company follows the latest legislation.
- Assist the Group HR Manager as required.
HRIS Management:
- Responsible for the successful implementation, maintenance, and operations of the HRIS and other software platforms.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, operational efficiency, and security.
- Troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with IT and other users to ensure resolution.
- Assist with people data analytics and reporting capabilities, optimizing systems to reduce manual reporting.
- Develop end-user procedures, guidelines, and workflow documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in HR, particularly in employee relations and HR policy development.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead training and coaching sessions effectively.
- No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities are required for this position.
