Reed is delighted to be supporting a large, well-respected public sector organisation in the recruitment of an experienced HR Officer to join their established HR team on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys a varied, fast-paced role combining HR administration, employee lifecycle support and payroll-related activities.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative HR Services team, you will provide advice and administrative support across a broad range of HR processes, supporting employees and managers within your designated business area.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing contracts, offer letters and employment documentation
- Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Managing promotion, secondment and family leave administration
- Processing sickness absence and annual leave changes
- Supporting payroll administration, including overtime and pay-related amendments
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR system updates
- Responding to HR-related queries from employees and managers
- Supporting recruitment administration and onboarding activities
- Producing HR data and reports as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within an HR administration, HR officer or HR services environment
- Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes
- Experience handling contractual changes and employee correspondence
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications

Package & Working Arrangements
- Salary: c£30,000
- Full-time, 37 hours per week
- Flexible working arrangements
- Hybrid working with approximately 2 office days per week
- Free on-site parking available
- Initial 6-month assignment with potential for extension
