Your new company
Our client is a respected charity, and we're pleased to help them hire a People Adviser to join its collaborative HR team in Bury St Edmunds. Supporting around 650 employees and volunteers, the organisation plays a vital role in its local community and has built a reputation for investing in its people, fostering a supportive culture and promoting continuous learning. The organisation offers flexible working, excellent wellbeing support, generous annual leave, enhanced sick pay, pension contributions and a range of health and lifestyle benefits.
Your new role
This is a broad generalist HR position, but one with plenty of variety and scope to get involved beyond the day-to-day. You will provide professional advice and guidance across the full employee life cycle, supporting managers and employees with recruitment, employee relations, wellbeing initiatives, learning and development and people processes. A significant proportion of the role will involve managing ER casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters, ensuring a legally compliant and pragmatic approach at all times.
Alongside your generalist responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to people projects, process improvements and wider organisational initiatives. The Head of HR is keen to encourage new ideas and welcomes challenge, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves with operational HR work but is equally motivated by project activity and continuous improvement. You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, helping to shape positive people practices across the organisation.
