Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Recruitment Officer for our client, a local government organisation based in Wembley, London.
The successful post holder will deliver high-quality recruitment and selection services across a range of departments, supporting recruitment campaigns from initial advertising through to appointment and onboarding.
The role will ensure selection processes are professional, fair and effective, while managing a wide range of pre-employment checks including DBS, CIFAS, references, right to work and occupational health clearances. The post holder will also contribute to recruitment projects and improvements to recruitment systems and processes.
This is a temporary contract for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Hybrid working is available, with 3 days per week in the office.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Deliver recruitment and selection services across a range of departments, providing advice and support to recruiting managers and candidates.
- Coordinate recruitment campaigns and selection processes, including interviews and assessment centres.
- Manage the full range of pre-employment checks, including DBS, CIFAS, references, right to work, qualifications, work permits and occupational health clearances.
- Monitor recruitment activity and ensure outstanding checks, references and documentation are followed up promptly.
- Keep candidates and recruiting managers informed throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records, monitoring systems, HR databases and online recruitment systems.
- Prepare job offers, contracts and other recruitment documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Support recruitment projects, events, seminars, workshops and other related workstreams.
- Identify and implement improvements to recruitment processes, systems and customer service.
- Ensure recruitment and selection practices promote equality, inclusion and accessibility and comply with relevant legislation.
- Handle highly confidential information with professionalism, integrity and discretion.
Personal Requirements:
- Social Care experience desirable (adults social care would be ideal), even NHS.
- Recent recruitment experience essential.
- Good knowledge of recruitment and selection best practice, processes and relevant employment legislation.
- Experience delivering recruitment and selection activities within a large or complex organisation.
- Experience managing recruitment assignments and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience carrying out pre-employment screening and compliance checks.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining accurate information and administrative systems.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new recruitment systems quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work confidently with managers, candidates and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns and competing deadlines effectively.
- Strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion within recruitment.
- Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to recruitment and selection.
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Pay: £28.19 per hour
