We are delighted to be supporting a purpose-led organisation in the search for a People Operations Manager to play a key role within its People & Culture function.
This is a broad and hands-on position, taking ownership of the day-to-day delivery of people operations while driving improvements across systems, processes, recruitment and the overall employee experience. You will also line manage the People Team Executive and work closely with senior leaders, line managers and colleagues across the organisation.
The Role
As People Operations Manager, you will lead the operational delivery of the People & Culture team, ensuring employees and managers receive an efficient, responsive and high-quality service.
A significant part of the role will involve identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and continuously improve people processes, while maintaining strong governance and compliance.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture team and line managing the People Team Executive.
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from attraction through to offer, ensuring an excellent candidate and onboarding experience.
- Overseeing employee data and maintaining the accuracy of the HR system, including Sage People and its payroll interface.
- Managing the monthly payroll process alongside the People Team Executive.
- Supporting the effective delivery and governance of people policies and procedures.
- Ensuring team resources are effectively allocated and agreed service levels are achieved.
- Identifying and implementing improvements, automation and efficiencies across people operations.
- Producing accurate people data, reports and dashboards to support organisational decision-making, including pay gap reporting.
About you
We are looking for an experienced People/HR operations professional who combines strong operational delivery with a genuine interest in improving how people services work.
You will bring experience across HR systems, recruitment and people processes, alongside strong organisational and project management skills. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders at different levels and able to balance day-to-day operational requirements with longer-term improvement projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a good understanding of people policies and procedures. Experience using Excel and Power BI to create and maintain people dashboards would also be particularly valuable.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and creating a positive experience for candidates, employees and managers within a collaborative People & Culture environment.
