HR Generalist
Full-time office-based role
Salary £35,000-£40,000
We are recruiting for an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy, site-based Human Resources team within a well-established manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, office-based position offering the opportunity to play a key role in supporting both operational and strategic HR activities across the site.
Working closely with managers and employees, you will provide hands-on HR support across the full employee lifecycle, helping to drive people initiatives, enhance employee engagement and ensure HR best practice is consistently applied.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of HR strategies, policies and procedures across the business.
- Partner with managers to provide practical HR guidance on employee relations, performance management, absence, conduct and capability matters.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities to ensure staffing requirements are met.
- Coordinate learning and development initiatives, helping to build employee capability and support succession planning.
- Support the implementation of people-focused projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Contribute to employee engagement activities and help foster a positive workplace culture.
- Work closely with leadership teams to provide coaching and advice on people management matters.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice.
- Produce HR reports, monitor key people metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.
- Collaborate with wider HR and shared service teams to ensure an effective and professional HR service.
- Undertake additional HR duties and projects as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- CIPD qualified or educated to degree level in a relevant subject.
- Previous experience within a generalist HR position.
- Sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting employee relations cases and advising managers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
