Interim HR Business Partner

Salford City Council is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide consultancy cover during a period of increased operational demand arising from a number of sickness absences. This is an excellent opportunity for an established HR professional to make an immediate impact within a progressive local authority.
Working as part of the HR & OD team, you will partner with senior leaders and managers across the organisation, providing expert advice on employee relations matters, supporting service transformation, and helping deliver people-focused solutions that enable services to achieve their objectives. While the role will have a particular focus on supporting the Place Directorate, there will also be opportunities to work across other directorates as business needs require.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality HR business partnering support to senior leaders and management teams.
- Managing and advising on a broad range of complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and organisational change matters.
- Supporting managers through conflict resolution and workplace relationship challenges.
- Contributing to service transformation, organisational change and workforce planning initiatives.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience working as a HR Business Partner, with strong employee relations expertise and confidence to lead on complex casework independently.
- Excellent knowledge of employment law and its practical application.
- Experience supporting organisational change, transformation and service redesign.
- Strong conflict resolution, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work effectively with senior leaders, managers and trade union representatives.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
