JHE & Partners are working with one of our excellent family-owned manufacturing clients in Bradford to assist in their search for a part-time HR Manager covering maternity leave. The contrat will last 11 months, working 25 hours per week over 5 days overseeing the HR function for the business.
With the support of an HR Assistant, the chosen candidate will support and advise the senior leadership team whilst overseeing all aspects of the function including training, recruitment, compliance and employee engagement. The role is overseeing a workforce of 130 employees across multiple sites within the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all employee relations cases, providing expert advice and ensuring consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
- Continuously review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and business requirements.
- Build management capability through training, coaching and supporting managers in dealing with employee matters (e.g. performance, absence, conduct, grievance).
- Manage recruitment costs and control agency spending
- Support delivery of the company’s training and development activities, ensuring statutory, compliance, and development needs are met.
- Support the Production Manager with ongoing apprenticeships and continuously drive training opportunities
- Promote employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, supporting a positive and inclusive culture.
- Ensure full compliance with employment law, data protection and audit requirements.
Person specification:
- Experience in a HR generalist/HR Manager role or experience of managing people.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing or family-owned business environment.
- Understanding of payroll and basic finance processes.
Salary on offer is paying in the region of £24,000 for 25 hours - a shift pattern can be flexible for the chosen candidate with 25 days holiday + 1 extra for birthday, company healthcare plan. Pension is auto enrolled.
