Employee Relations Advisor
- Hourly Rate: £14.32 to £15.88 (PAYE)
- Location: S5 Postcode with some travel to other Hospital sites in Sheffield (Hybrid working is available)
- Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible)
Join a dedicated HR team at our client, as an Employee Relations Advisor, providing essential support across various HR functions, particularly focusing on employee relations, employment terms, and HR initiatives. This role is pivotal in maintaining effective workforce relations and ensuring the smooth operation of HR services within the NHS Sheffield.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Employee Relations: Advise managers on HR issues such as discipline, sickness, grievances, etc., support investigations, prepare reports, and attend critical meetings like suspensions and appeals.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate records in HR systems, monitor case progress, escalate complex issues, and manage sickness absence and staff redeployment.
- Policies & Procedures: Assist in developing and updating HR policies, advise on job roles and pay grading, and support voluntary resignation schemes.
- Training & Development: Deliver HR training and inductions, coach managers on HR policies, and stay updated on employment law.
- Projects & Strategy: Participate in HR projects and workforce planning, collaborate with recruitment and data teams, and share best practices to improve services.
- Teamwork: Work closely with HR and recruitment teams to ensure consistent HR support across the Trust.
- Systems & Tools: Utilize Microsoft Office and ESR payroll system to maintain HR records and case tracking.
- Other Duties: Travel to different Trust sites, represent HR in meetings, support employment tribunals if needed, and adhere to health & safety and Trust policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A-levels or equivalent; CIPD qualification or working towards it.
- Proven HR advisory experience, particularly in handling sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance cases, bullying and harassment, and capability issues.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and NHS policies.
- Experience working with unions and supporting change initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) with excellent communication and mediation skills.
- Ability to write detailed reports and handle investigations effectively.
- Capable of staying calm under pressure and working well in a team.
