OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join their central HR function as part of a shared service model. This is a part-time, permanent position with hybrid working. The role is suited to an HR professional with strong employee relations experience, excellent coaching capability, and the ability to support managers in resolving complex people issues.
The working pattern offers flexibility (0.8 – 1 FTE), with the requirement to work on Fridays. The position provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of people management capability across the organisation while supporting a positive, inclusive and learning-focused culture.
Responsibilities- Manage a personal caseload of complex employee relations matters, including sickness, performance management, and grievances.
- Coach and support managers to make confident, risk-based decisions that balance organisational needs with fairness and consistency.
- Develop and deliver coaching, guidance and training to enhance people management skills across the organisation.
- Provide timely, accurate and pragmatic HR advice to managers and stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, modelling openness, collaboration and trust.
- Promote simplicity, innovation and continuous improvement in HR practices.
- Apply excellent analytical and investigative skills to assess situations and provide informed recommendations.
- Use HR systems and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms) effectively to support HR processes and reporting.
- Uphold organisational values and contribute to inclusive HR initiatives and practices.
Requirements- Demonstrable experience managing a caseload of complex ER issues, including sickness, performance and grievance cases.
- Ability to coach managers and influence decision-making through constructive challenge and strong interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in building effective working relationships and contributing to collaborative team environments.
- Strong analytical and investigative abilities, with the capability to assess risk and propose practical solutions.
- Confident communicator who supports informed, timely decision-making.
- Competence with IT systems including Microsoft Office and HR systems such as Oracle HR, iTrent, or similar.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion and equitable HR practice.
- Ability to adapt HR guidance to meet varied stakeholder needs within a fast-paced environment.
