We are looking for an experienced People Relationship Partner to support a portfolio of services by providing expert, pragmatic and relational HR advice. You will work in close partnership with senior leaders and managers to build positive employee relationships, increase engagement and help create a culture where people feel trusted, supported and empowered to do their best work – all in service of positive outcomes for our residents.
This is a senior advisory role with real influence. You will manage complex people issues, support organisational change, strengthen trade union relationships and coach managers to lead with empathy, confidence and good judgement.
Key responsibilities- Provide expert, consistent advice on employment practice and employment legislation, including hands-on involvement in complex and sensitive cases such as Employment Tribunals, large-scale organisational change and disputes.
- Support and advise on organisational development, workforce planning and resourcing, pay and reward, job evaluation, learning and development.
- Promote and embed inclusive, relational and restorative approaches to people management across services.
- Act as a trusted partner to Directors, Heads of Service and managers, helping to de-risk people issues and resolve challenges constructively.
- Use people data, insight, research and best practice to support evidence-based decision making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Trade Unions, staff networks and key stakeholders, supporting effective partnership working.
- Contribute to and support the design and delivery of people-focused projects, working collaboratively across People and Inclusion and the wider organisation.
- Coach and support managers through training sessions, workshops and day-to-day advice to build capability and confidence in people management.
- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of people policies and procedures, ensuring they are robust, relevant and aligned with Camden’s relational values.
- Act as a point of contact and attend meetings on behalf of the People Relationship Lead when required.
- From time to time, coach and mentor HR colleagues, agency staff, apprentices or those on work experience (no formal line management responsibility).
About youYou will be an experienced HR professional who is confident working at pace in a complex organisation and who genuinely believes in putting people and relationships at the centre of their work.
You will bring:
- Detailed knowledge of employment legislation and current people practice.
- A recognised HR professional qualification (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent experience.
- A strong commitment to inclusive, relational and restorative practice.
- Experience of handling complex employee relations cases, organisational change and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical, value-adding solutions.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach, with a willingness to challenge constructively and innovate.
- Experience of planning and delivering work over the short to medium term, including contributing to project outcomes.
- The ability to work flexibly across different service areas and priorities.
