Are you organised, approachable and passionate about supporting a busy school environment? We are seeking a HR Assistant to be the first point of contact for HR queries and to provide essential administrative support to the HR team across the school/Trust.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys helping others, is detail-focused, and wants to develop their HR experience within an education setting.
About the Role
As the HR Assistant, you will provide a welcoming, professional service to staff, visitors, and external partners. You will support the HR, recruitment and payroll functions, maintain accurate records, and help ensure the smooth running of day-to-day HR operations within the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR queries, directing staff to the appropriate HR colleague
- Monitor the general HR mailbox, filing information or forwarding emails as required
- Handle incoming calls and messages, ensuring they reach the right person promptly
- Provide administrative support across HR, payroll, and recruitment, including filing, photocopying and scanning
- Collate data for HR reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Manage incoming and outgoing post
- Order stationery and maintain stock levels
- Meet and greet visitors to the HR team
- Arrange rooms, facilities and refreshments for meetings and training events
- Update HR documents, including HR policy folders and the HR/policies section of the school website
- Enter staff data into the HRIS system as directed
- Keep up to date with relevant HR legislation, policies and best practice
- Attend relevant training, workshops and professional updates
- Promote the Trust’s values and brand through professionalism and consistency
