About the Organisation
We are entering a pivotal stage in our development as we transition toward full organisational independence. With evolving strategic priorities, a more complex risk environment, and a renewed focus on governance and assurance, we are building a modern, proactive, and effective assurance function.
To support this work, we are seeking an outstanding Head of Assurance to lead and shape our assurance, risk, legal, company secretariat, due diligence, and investigative functions.
The Role
The Head of Assurance will design, embed, and oversee a cohesive assurance and risk framework that strengthens governance, improves oversight, and supports our organisational transition.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team including:
- Legal
- Company Secretariat
- Due Diligence
- Assurance
- Risk & Assurance Advisor (new role)
You will also oversee the delivery of outsourced internal audit services.
Key Priorities in the First Year
1. Establishing Core Processes
- Implement standardised assurance and risk management processes.
- Embed an organisation-wide risk management framework being developed with external consultancy support.
2. Building a High-Performing, Cohesive Team
- Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows clearly.
- Create a shared vision across legal, risk, due diligence, and assurance functions.
- Address uneven workloads and establish consistent, fair operating practices.
3. Strengthening Risk Culture
- Develop a practical, organisation-aligned approach to risk.
- Support teams to understand, engage with, and implement the risk framework.
4. Providing Strategic Assurance Leadership
- Lead the assurance agenda, including oversight of outsourced internal audit.
- Ensure investigative processes are robust and aligned with best practice.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and governance excellence.
About You
Essential Experience
- Strong grounding in audit and investigations.
- Experience establishing or improving assurance or risk functions.
- Ability to operate confidently at senior leadership level and influence organisation-wide change.
