HR Advisor
Our client is looking for a Temporary HR Advisor to partner closely with operational managers, supporting them to lead high-performing teams and deliver an outstanding colleague experience. This is a key role within the HR function, ensuring people practices are aligned to business objectives and compliant with current employment legislation. This role will be for approx 6mths and we are looking for commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for managers on all HR-related matters within your designated area
- Provide pragmatic, commercial HR advice on policies, people management, and employee relations, building manager capability and confidence
- Support core HR activities including salary reviews, training, recruitment, and performance reviews, working collaboratively with HR Shared Services, L&D, and Talent Acquisition
- Ensure departmental training plans are in place for both mandatory and role-specific development
- Coach and support line managers in handling investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters, including maintaining the ER tracker
- Contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy and continuous improvement initiatives as part of the wider HR team
- Review and update job descriptions with managers, ensuring role changes are accurately reflected
- Support efficient recruitment processes, including the conversion of temporary colleagues to permanent roles
- Provide advice and hands-on support through organisational change processes
- Use HR systems to manage people data and produce reports on key metrics such as absence, identifying trends and recommending improvements
- Work alongside the HR Business Partner and L&D team to identify development needs
- Support colleague engagement initiatives and maintain regular contact with operational managers to proactively address people issues
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience supporting line managers to build strong, capable teams
- Strong background in providing HR advice, coaching, and support within a commercial environment
- Solid knowledge of HR best practice and current employment legislation
- Passion for promoting diversity, inclusion, and a culture of belonging
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and committed to continuous improvement
- Able to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
