We're working with a well-established SME manufacturing business based in Blackburn that is going through a period of change and development. They are looking to appoint an experienced HR Manager to lead people activity on site and play a key role within the senior leadership team.
This is a true generalist, hands-on role, ideal for someone comfortable operating both strategically and operationally within a fast-paced, blue-collar manufacturing environment.
The role
- Act as the senior HR presence on site, partnering closely with the Site Manager and leadership team
- Lead the site People Plan and contribute to wider business strategy
- Provide robust ER support across absence, performance, probations, disciplinaries, grievances and investigations
- Support organisational and cultural change initiatives
- Oversee recruitment activity, onboarding and inductions
- Manage HR systems, payroll inputs and time & attendance data
- Lead and develop a junior HR Administrator
- Drive engagement, recognition, retention and communication initiatives across the workforce
About you
- Proven HR Manager / Senior HR Advisor experience within SME manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong ER capability and confidence working with predominantly blue-collar workforces
- Comfortable being hands-on and visible on site
- Experience of change, culture or organisational design projects highly desirable
- Strong systems capability (HRIS, MS Office; T&A systems advantageous)
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 preferred (or equivalent experience)
