We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join the People & Culture team of our Cambridge based client with immediate effect. This is a temporary position for initially 4 months. This role will provide professional HR support to managers and employees across the organisation, helping to deliver a positive employee experience and ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently.
The HR Advisor will play a key role in supporting employee relations cases (in particular absence and performance management) and support with ad hoc HR projects within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

Key responsibilities of the HR Advisor role
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Take the lead on employee relations matters including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes.
- Contribute to HR initiatives and projects that support organisational development and employee engagement.
- Help ensure HR policies remain up to date and compliant with employment legislation.
- Maintain accurate HR records and support reporting where required.
- Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to promote inclusive and supportive workplace practices.
About you
- Previous experience working in an HR Advisor or similar HR generalist role, with particular strength in employee relations.
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or working towards) or equivalent experience is desirable.
- A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach.
